Sonnet

The snow falls down on the harsh winter day.
The wind is blowing strong; the trees are bare.
I hope this weather is not here to stay.
Right now, I long for the sun’s shining glare.

December through February is cold.
The temperature is dropping ev’ry day.
It feels just so long, I feel oh so old.
I wish for the months March, April, and May.

But actually, winter’s kind-of nice,
To drink hot chocolate by a fire,
In the summer I want a bowl of ice.
The hot summer days force me to tire.

In cold winter days, I think I might freeze.
Though summer’s not perfect, I want it now.
